Matthew A. Weingold, M.D.
Dr. Matthew Weingold joined The Hand Center of Greensboro in 1999 after practicing with a large orthopaedic group in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Weingold specializes in the treatment of injuries and disorders of the hand, wrist, and elbow including care and treatment for conditions affecting the hand and upper extremities related to trauma, fractures, lacerations, tendon and nerve injuries, arthritis and sports injuries.
Dr. Weingold is a native of Potomac, Maryland. He received his B.A. in Political Science from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Weingold completed medical school and served his internship at George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, DC, followed by an orthopaedic residency at University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA where he was Chief Resident. Dr. Weingold completed a hand and microvascular surgery fellowship through the University of Alabama in Birmingham, AL. Dr. Weingold is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Weingold successfully completed the Subspecialty Certificate in Surgery of the Hand, and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, UVA Medical Alumni Association, North Carolina Society of Medicine and Guilford County Society of Medicine. As a member of The McCue Society Dr. Weingold attends an annual meeting established to present a forum for sports medicine education and research and to provide scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students in the field.
Dr. Weingold’s non-professional interests include athletics, wakeboarding, golf and fishing. He and his wife Jenny have three children, Morgan, Max and Julia.
